Whispers from an Elder World (Best if read after A Scourge Awakened)
Shipwrecked on a frozen, snowbound continent, Torfinn struggles desperately against the frigid cold in order to survive while waiting for rescue. Drawn to explore his bleak surroundings by the need to stave off crushing boredom, he finds a cave of impossible proportions which leads him down into an elder realm lost to time. Driven by curiosity and hunger, he makes a discovery both beautiful and terrifying that forever changes how he views the world in which he lives.
People have been disappearing in the sundrenched, quiet, ocean-front town of Senleha, although no one knows why. Alaya, a relatively new Vahdrao, has been sent from Athrilen to investigate, marking the first time she has returned to her home country of Gzira since the manifestation of her powers. She is irritated at first over what she sees as a novice level assignment that none of the other Vahdrao want to deal with, but she soon learns that there is more going on than it seems. And her final discovery shocks her to her core as she learns what has actually been causing the disappearances.

Nightmares plague the town of Rudnyiv, although only six families at a time are affected by the curse. Once it runs its inevitable course, the afflicted's lives ending in madness and violent death, another family is chosen seemingly at random. Always six, no more, no less. The curse has most recently fallen on Artem after he discovers his grandparents' dead bodies, the town's newest casualties to the nightmare plague, and he desperately tries to find a way to keep it from destroying his own family. His search reveals a dark secret the town didn't even know it was harboring, as well as the horrible truth behind the curse itself.

Deep in the bamboo groves of Shintakkiri Forest, people living in the remote village of Enko are being slaughtered by a mysterious creature. Izanagi, one of the Vahdrao who are born with the ability to draw on the power flowing through the world, has been sent to investigate and deal with the situation. When he arrives, he finds that things are not what they seem.
